A LITTLE TAG CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE
Pet ID tags are one of the simplest ways to help a lost pet find their way home. With your contact information right on their collar, anyone who finds your pet has an easy way to get in touch.
Custom engraved pet ID tags are available for just $10 at our Highland shelter and are available to everyone. Choose from a variety of shapes, sizes and colors to find the right fit for your pet.
WHAT SHOULD I PUT ON MY PET'S TAG?
Space varies depending on the tag, but we recommend prioritizing:

Your pet's name

Your phone number (Be sure to use a phone number that is current and easy to reach.)

A second phone number, if space allows

Any other short, important information you'd want someone to know if your pet were found!
Even if your pet is microchipped, an ID tag is still a great first line of defense.
A tag can help a neighbor get your pet home quickly, while a registered microchip provides permanent identification if their collar or tag is ever lost.
Need both? Microchipping is also available through MEHS's low-cost Vaccine & Microchip Clinics.
